Curious about playing in the next Make Music Portland celebration?

To build our schedule and connect performers with places to play, we use a matchmaking software by Make Music Maine. Although our 2026 event has been postponed, you can still create an artist profile on our system.

This system connects Maine artists with local events and venues. We’ll use it for the next MMP event. Get started by making an artist profile now.

    about performing

Make Music Portland is all about shining a spotlight on area musicians and bringing free music to the streets of Portland.

We encourage all forms of participation, whether it’s banging a symbol on a street corner, getting together and jamming with friends in the backyard, or signing up with us and registering for a spot at one of our official venues.

    We only have two rules.

First, all public performances are free to attend and free to participate in. Make Music Portland is a totally free event.

Second, be respectful of other musicians around you. Please, no competing performances, unless that’s your setup.

For those interested in taking part in the next event, we’ll be holding a public meeting and info session on Thursday, July 9. To join the meeting either online or in-person in Portland, email us at holler@makemusicportland.org.
