Make Music Portland 2020
Make Music Portland 2020 is happening Sunday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Join us for dozens free concerts happening all around Portland, Maine. We’ll be opening registrations for performing in March, so check back regularly. Interested in hosting concerts? Click here.
Make Music Portland is a day-long, totally free musical event, aimed at bringing local performers into the spotlight. Along with hundreds of cities around the world, every year on June 21 we ring in the longest day of the year with music and artistry. Join us as we fill local parks, restaurants, backyards, and public and private spaces with hundreds of performances, ranging in style and genre.
This is a free event. There are no costs to attend any performance, or to come join us making music. In addition, we organize free community events (think jam sessions, musical lessons, and the like) that happen throughout the day on June 21.
A branch of the international Fête de la Musique, Make Music Portland is organized by a Maine-based non-profit, with the generous help of dedicated local volunteers. We are always looking for new ideas, new volunteers, and fresh input. Shoot us an email if you’re curious.
Registration to be included on the 2020 schedule will open in March. To build our schedule and connect performers with places to play, we use matchmaking software provided by the Make Music Alliance. It’s really simple. Register on our matchmaking program. Then create either a performer or a venue profile, depending on whether you want to make music or host it. Then you can search for open performance spots or the perfect artists to make music at your venue. Check back in March to register!
If you would like to reach us for any other reason (hosting a performance, volunteering, being part of our board of directors, or for any reason) please send us an email.
