We welcome anyone with space in Portland to register as a performance venue and get listed on the official 2026 schedule.

You put up your space on June 21 for free, public performances. We help you connect with the perfect performers to fill your space with sound. No matter the sort of venue, we want you to participate.

Matchmaking between local musicians and Portland venues begins May 1, when we officially open registration for 2026. But you can get a head start now! Create your venue profile today, and we’ll notify you when you can begin sending and receiving requests to musicians.

Just a few rules for hosting…

Make Music city organizers don’t pay performers, nor do performers pay the organization. However, private venues are welcome to make any financial arrangements they wish with performing musicians, as long as the concerts are free to attend and open to the general public. All summer solstice events registered through our matchmaking portal get promoted via Make Music Portland and added to the official event schedule. We encourage private venues to also promote the solstice events.

Make Music Maine portal

To connect performers and venues, we use the Make Music Maine portal. This intuitive platform lets venues send and receive performance requests for local musicians, then curate a lineup of shows as part of our summer solstice event.

First, sign up to Make Music Maine, then create a venue profile. Feel free to build out your profile with pictures and info about your venue, as well as what type of music you’re hoping to host. Starting May 1, you’ll see the Make Music Portland link in the portal navigation. Use the link to request artists for specific time periods, or search for artists looking to perform. Click here to get started.

For questions about the platform or event, send us an email at holler@makemusicportland.org.
